NEWS - MINKE WHALES

10-11-2009 The Minkes Are In Trouble

It is a well documented fact that the Japanese are relentlessly hunting what could be the last Minke Whales left on our planet for commercial gain. These beautiful sea mammals, the smallest baleen whales on earth, are killed without consideration or mercy. The Japanese hunters are nothing but a bunch of criminals as these animals are killed within a sanctuary under the guise of scientific research.

Most countries have economic bonds with Japan and thus the latter face no protest other than that of private individuals and organisations. The consequences which the whales face thanks to the lily livered attitude of international politics, is dire: their last minutes on earth is spent in agony; and the threat of extinction is becomes more of a reality as each whaling season approaches.

Minkes have no defense against the weapons of the Japanese whaling fleet which consists of a “research” vessel and three harpoon vessels.

The bottom line is there is no place for whaling in modern society and with the threat of extinction upon the Minke Whales, they need the world to stand together as one, unanimous voice and call for a plan of action to save these species.

There is no reason why each season 900 minke whales should be killed for research. If Japan hasn’t found what they are looking for by now, then they never will. The meat of the whales are forced upon the Japanese public as food. Extensive surveys and research however has shown that the majority of the Japanese public have no interest in whale meat, despite the whaling companies claiming that whaling and whale meat is deeply ingrained in Japanese culture.

I call upon each and every citizen of Earth to help me to end this senseless and ultimately useless slaughter. The time has come to end all of the madness. We are not stupid – I doubt for one second anyone believes the ruse of “scientific research”. Let your government, your politicians, the people you put in power with your vote know that you will not be duped in believing the lies sold by Japanese whaling companies.

I can only hope you will fight alongside me, to help me do whatever it takes to save as many lives as we can, because if we do not take action, we are guaranteed to lose one of the most beautiful species known to humankind.
